Why consider dental implants?

Tooth loss can make you feel uncomfortable about smiling, eating in public, and can impact your self-confidence. In addition when a tooth is lost, the jawbone beneath it shrinks from lack of stimulation. This can change the shape of your face causing you to look prematurely aged. Bridges and dentures do nothing to stop bone loss.

Furthermore, crown and bridge dentistry requires reshaping teeth leaving them at much greater risk for tooth failure. Dentures become uncomfortable and unstable over time causing eating and speech problems.

Dental implants offer a permanent solution to missing teeth, restoring both function and aesthetics to your smile. Ray Loke's expertise ensures precise placement and natural-looking results. Unlike traditional dentures, implants integrate seamlessly with your jawbone, providing stability and preventing bone loss. Dental implants are a wise investment in your oral health.

Dental implant treatment options at The Oakwood Clinic

Individual tooth options

Whether you are missing tooth is at the front or back of the mouth, we are able to replace it with a dental implant without altering the healthy adjacent teeth. Once the implant is placed, this will provide support for your final crown, resulting in a restored smile, optimal chewing ability and preserving healthy teeth and jawbone.

Multiple teeth options

If you are missing multiple teeth, if all your upper and lower teeth are missing or if your existing dentures are falling out and are unstable, at The Oakwood Clinic we can help improve your situation. We can place multiple implants to support a multiple tooth bridge or firmly secure and stabilise a denture with special implant attachments.

Your dental implant journey with us

We aim to make your dental implant journey at The Oakwood Clinic as smooth and comfortable as possible, with personalised care at every step.

Step
1

Initial consultation

During our initial assessment, we get to know you and listen to any concerns you have before looking at your teeth. Certain uncontrolled medical conditions may decrease implant treatment effectiveness, so it is vital in finding out whether implant treatment is for you. We realise no two people are the same and by information gained through a thorough examination, scans and x-rays a tailored treatment plan will be formulated for you.

Occasionally, other dental treatments such as gum treatment, orthodontic or bone or gum tissue grafts will be necessary to create the optimal environment to ensure the long term success of your implants.

We’ll also give you an in-depth treatment estimate and present you with all of the options available.

The fee for the consultation appointment is from £100, subject to further investigations required.

Step
2

Your treatment

Dental implants are placed under local anaesthetic into the bone employing state of the art equipment. Advanced techniques such as synthetic bone grafting and L-PRF therapy are used to aid and enhance the healing and recovery process.

The utmost care and attention is provided by Ray and the team at The Oakwood Clinic. This results in a  controlled, comfortable, relatively pain-free procedure, leading to great results for your treatment.

The bone and gums will be given adequate time to heal before the crown, bridge or denture is attached restoring your natural smile and function.

The fee for an implant with a single unit crown is from £2750.

Step
3

Your aftercare

At The Oakwood clinic we believe dental implants are not fitted and forgotten, after your implant placement, multiple review appointments are provided at no additional cost to ensure adequate healing has taken place before your new implant teeth are provided.

Like everything, dental implants require simple maintenance, therefore we strongly advise you to attend the clinic at six monthly intervals after your implant teeth have been provided for routine inspections and hygiene sessions.

Flexible payment options for your dental implants

We offer clear, transparent pricing with no hidden fees, so you’ll always know the full cost of your treatment upfront.

Take advantage of our 0% finance options to spread the cost, making dental implants more accessible to patients across Oakwood, Enfield, Southgate, Hadley Wood, and North London.

Frequently asked questions

What are the benefits of dental implants?

Tooth loss can affect your confidence, making you self-conscious about smiling or eating in public. It can also lead to bone loss in the jaw, which may change the shape of your face, causing you to appear prematurely aged.

Unlike bridges and dentures, which don’t prevent bone loss, dental implants provide a permanent solution. They integrate with the jawbone, preventing further shrinkage and preserving the natural structure of your face. Traditional crown and bridge treatments can weaken surrounding teeth, while dentures can become unstable and uncomfortable over time.

Dental implants restore both the function and aesthetics of your smile, offering a stable, long-lasting solution that boosts confidence and improves your quality of life.

How do dental implants work?

Dental implants are small titanium posts placed into the jawbone to replace the roots of missing teeth. Over time, the bone fuses with the implant in a process called osseointegration, creating a strong and stable foundation for crowns, bridges, or dentures. Once the implant is integrated, a custom restoration is attached, restoring both function and appearance to your smile.

Are dental implants right for me?

Dental implants are suitable for most people who have lost a tooth or multiple teeth. To determine if you’re a good candidate, we'll assess your oral health, bone structure, and any medical conditions that may affect the healing process. A consultation with Ray Loke here in Oakwood will help determine whether dental implants are the best solution for your specific needs.

How long do dental implants last?

With proper care, dental implants can last a lifetime. The titanium post integrates with the bone and is highly durable, while the restoration (crown, bridge, or denture) can last many years before needing replacement. Regular dental check-ups and good oral hygiene are essential for maintaining your implants.

Are dental implants painful?

Most patients report minimal discomfort during the dental implant procedure due to the use of local anaesthesia. Post-surgery, any discomfort can typically be managed with over-the-counter pain relievers. Our team will provide detailed aftercare instructions to ensure a smooth recovery and minimise any discomfort. How do I care for my dental implants?

Caring for your dental implants is similar to caring for natural teeth. Brush and floss regularly to keep the implant and surrounding gums healthy. Regular dental visits are important to monitor the implant's condition and ensure it remains in good health. Additionally, avoid habits like grinding your teeth, which could damage your implants.
